FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I dine at Inés even if I’m not a guest at the hotel?

Yes, but you will need to make a reservation ahead of time.

Do you offer kid-friendly activities?

Yes, Illa welcomes families, and all of our Experiences are designed according to your needs and interests. Just let us know what you and your family are interested in. We are a small, boutique hotel, which means that we can take the time to find out what our guests need.

Do you offer vegan/Kosher dining options?

We can make arrangements to accommodate most dietary restrictions, but please do let us know at least a week before your arrival.

Is it possible to check out after the designated check out time?

Availability permitting, we are happy to work around your travel plans.

Can I bring my pets?

No, unfortunately, we cannot host pets.

Will the altitude affect me?

Quito is one of the highest capital cities in the world, sitting at 9.000 feet above sea level. Most people do just fine at high altitude, given a little time to adjust. Just try not to exert yourself much for the first few days after you arrive (no jogging, no carrying heavy luggage).

If any health problems do come up, we have oxygen tanks and a doctor on call.

Where is the hotel?

Illa is centrally located, just a few blocks away from the Plaza Grande in the Historic Center, in the cozy neighborhood of San Marcos.

It’s close enough to the main attractions (San Francisco, La Compañía, La Ronda) that you can get around by foot, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy a quiet moment here in San Marcos.

Is Quito safe?

San Marcos, where the hotel is located, is a very safe neighborhood with attentive neighbors and a police station right by the plaza.

Like in any city, it is important to be cautious if you are walking around in crowded places or after dark, and it is always better to call taxis at night.

How do I get to the hotel?

We are about a 45-minute drive away from Quito’s international airport, Mariscal Sucre, which offers daily connections from Miami, New York, Houston, Atlanta, Madrid, and Amsterdam. A taxi from the airport costs about 25 dollars, or you can contact us ahead of time to arrange a transfer.

Can I visit the hotel if I am not a guest?

Because protecting the family atmosphere of the hotel is important to us, Illa is not open to the general public. If you have a query about booking or events, and if you want to make a reservation at Inés, contact [email protected]

What facilities does the hotel have?
